
SALISBURY, N.C. , A Salisbury man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he stabbed another man during an incident near Larin Way on Friday evening.
According to dispatch traffic, emergency crews were called to the area of Larin Way off Stokes Ferry Road around 6:05 p.m. for a report of a 47-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back. Initial information indicated the victim was being transported from the scene in a tan Chevrolet Tahoe before first responders arrived. Fire, EMS and law enforcement units responded to the area.
Court documents show 37-year-old Daniel Ray Kesler of Salisbury was arrested and charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The charging document alleges Kesler assaulted another man with a folding knife, causing serious injuries. Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the stabbing, and the identity of the victim is being withheld.
Kesler was taken into custody by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office on June 6. He is scheduled to make an initial court appearance in Rowan County District Court on June 8.
The investigation remains ongoing.
