DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A 58-year-old Randleman man was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop during a multi-agency highway safety operation in Davidson County, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 16, detectives with the sheriff’s office Traffic and Criminal Enforcement Team participated in a High Visibility Engagement conducted through the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program. The operation, hosted by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Interdiction Team, focused on traffic enforcement in the areas of N.C. highways 49 and 109 near Denton and throughout Davidson and Randolph counties.
Participating agencies included the Asheboro Police Department, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and agents with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
During the operation, detectives stopped a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck for speeding on N.C. Highway 49 near N.C. Highway 109 South. Authorities said the investigation led to the arrest of David Brian White, 58, of Randleman.
White was charged with:
- Speeding
- Open container
- Possession of cocaine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
According to the sheriff’s office, White was issued a $1,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office noted that bond conditions are determined by judicial officials and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
