KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A 53-year-old Kannapolis man is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1.8 million secured bond after being charged with multiple felony child sex offenses, according to Rowan County court records.
Glen Scot Biggerstaff, of Moose Road in Kannapolis, was arrested June 19 on a total of nine felony counts of indecent liberties with a child stemming from two separate investigations conducted by the Kannapolis Police Department.
Court documents show the first set of warrants was issued June 5 and includes four counts of indecent liberties with a child involving one juvenile under the age of 16. The warrants allege the offenses occurred on or about Sept. 1, 2019. Investigators allege Biggerstaff, who was over the age of 16 and at least five years older than the child, took or attempted to take indecent liberties with the juvenile for the purpose of arousing or gratifying sexual desire.
A second set of warrants was issued June 8 and includes five additional counts of indecent liberties with a child involving a different juvenile under the age of 16. According to court records, the alleged offenses occurred on or about April 1, 2021. The charging documents contain similar allegations that Biggerstaff took or attempted to take indecent liberties with the child for the purpose of sexual arousal or gratification.
The warrants were obtained by detectives with the Kannapolis Police Department and served on June 19. Following his arrest, Biggerstaff was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center, where he remains held on a $1.8 million secured bond.
