FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – A Forsyth County man has been charged with multiple child sexual exploitation offenses following an investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Invictus Task Force.
Investigators said the task force began investigating a report of child exploitation in June 2026. During the investigation, detectives identified 45-year-old William Cain Shelton as the suspect.
On June 24, members of the Invictus Task Force executed a search warrant. Shelton was arrested and charged with three counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Shelton was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center, where a magistrate ordered him held without bond. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Forsyth County District Court on June 26.
