SALISBURY, N.C. , The Salisbury Police Department is inviting residents to four neighborhood block parties this summer as part of its Community Block Party Series, an initiative focused on building stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.
The events are being held in partnership with Communities In Schools Rowan County and the City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department. Organizers said the series will bring games, interactive activities and family-friendly entertainment directly into neighborhoods across the city.
Each event is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations:
• July 9, City Park
• July 16, Brenner Crossing
• July 30, Clancy Hills
• Aug. 6, Brookview Apartments
Residents will have the opportunity to meet Salisbury police officers, connect with neighbors and enjoy an evening of activities for the entire family. Planned attractions include games, music, food and access to community resources.
“We’re excited to partner with Communities In Schools and the City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation Mobile Recreation Program to bring fun, fellowship and community directly to our neighborhoods,” the department said in announcing the series.
The Salisbury Police Department said the Community Block Party Series is intended to strengthen neighborhoods by creating opportunities for positive interaction between residents and officers in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
