DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is inviting parents, grandparents, guardians and other caregivers to attend T.A.M.E. 2.0: The Parent Edition, a free educational program designed to help families better understand the challenges facing today’s teenagers and provide practical tools to help keep children safe.
The two-night program will be held July 20 and July 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the program focuses on prevention through education, giving parents current information about issues affecting young people while offering strategies they can use at home.
Topics scheduled to be covered include:
- Social media safety and online risks
- Internet predators and online grooming
- Vaping, alcohol and drug awareness
- Healthy communication with teenagers
- Recognizing warning signs and building resilience
- Community resources available to families
The sheriff’s office said participants will have opportunities to ask questions, take part in discussions and learn from law enforcement professionals who regularly work with youth and families.
“This program is about empowering parents with knowledge,” the sheriff’s office said. “Our goal is to provide families with information that helps them start important conversations, recognize potential dangers, and strengthen relationships with their children before problems arise.”
The program is free to attend, but registration is encouraged because seating is limited. Those interested in attending can register by scanning the event QR code posted on the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office social media pages.
