WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. , Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Speedway gas station early Monday that left a store clerk with a minor injury.
According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:50 a.m. Monday, July 6, to the Speedway located at 3598 Yadkinville Road after receiving a report of a business robbery.
Investigators said an unidentified Black male entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect stole an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
During the robbery, the store clerk suffered a minor injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police have not released details about how the injury occurred or the clerk’s condition.
No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not released a description beyond identifying the suspect as a Black male.
The investigation remains ongoing.
