
RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two missing and endangered autistic 18-year-olds who failed to arrive at a planned pickup location after tubing on the Deep River on Saturday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Eric Hisle, 18, and Talon Laccone, 18, were reported missing on Aug. 2, 2026.
Investigators said the pair entered the Deep River after being dropped off near N.C. Highway 22/42 at River Heights Drive. They were expected to float to the Bennett Road bridge, where they were scheduled to be picked up, but never arrived.
Eric Hisle is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue life jacket, pink swim trunks, and water shoes.
Talon Laccone is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds, with red hair. He was last seen wearing a blue life vest, green shirt, swim trunks, and water shoes.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts or welfare of either individual to call 911, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office at 336-318-6699, or Randolph County Crime Stoppers at 336-672-7463. Anonymous tips are accepted through Crime Stoppers.
