DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A multi-month narcotics investigation led to multiple arrests and the seizure of more than 8 pounds of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, firearms and other drugs across several jurisdictions, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force concluded the investigation July 23 after targeting people suspected of selling and distributing controlled substances throughout Davidson County and surrounding communities.
The investigation involved assistance from the High Point Police Department, Forsyth County Drug Task Force, Winston-Salem Police Department, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration and Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators arrested Nolan Zamarr Rowland of High Point at 1223 Rhue Road in Winston-Salem. Authorities said Rowland possessed an amount of methamphetamine consistent with distribution when he was arrested.
Investigators subsequently executed search warrants at four High Point locations: 1101 Anderson Place, 2227 S. Main St., 708 Richland St. and 818 Lakecrest Ave.
Authorities reported seizing approximately 8.6 pounds of methamphetamine, 54 grams of fentanyl, 44 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of crack cocaine, 9 grams of MDMA and 1.73 pounds of marijuana.
Investigators also seized 48 Suboxone strips, U.S. currency and four firearms.
Rowland faces numerous charges across multiple jurisdictions, including multiple counts of trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver controlled substances, maintaining a vehicle and dwelling for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor child abuse.
The sheriff’s office release lists Rowland as 44 in its arrest information, although an earlier portion of the release identifies him as 34. He was being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.
Sasha Lacole Payne, 38, of High Point, also faces numerous charges, including trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver several controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling and vehicle for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor child abuse.
Payne was placed in the Guilford County Detention Center under a $1.75 million secured bond.
Marcus Antonio Pickenpack, 44, of High Point, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and received a $10,000 secured bond.
Jacinda Yvette Davis, 37, of High Point, was wanted on a charge of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance at the time of the sheriff’s office announcement.
Brandi Nicole Adkins, 33, of Winston-Salem, was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and driving while license revoked. She received a $10,000 secured bond.
Tasha Renee Clodfelter, 45, of Thomasville, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine by possession and transportation, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked. She received a $30,000 secured bond.
Robert Troy Heaton, 61, of Asheboro, was charged with trafficking fentanyl by possession and transportation, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance on jail premises and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $100,000 secured bond.
Derrick Dwaine Braswell, 54, of Taylorsville, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and failure to maintain lane control. He received a $60,000 secured bond.
Authorities said information developed during the investigation also led law enforcement officers in Ontario, California, to seize approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine and two firearms. An additional person was arrested in connection with that seizure.
DART is composed of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Thomasville Police Department, Lexington Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. The agencies share resources and intelligence while investigating drug trafficking activity.
The investigation remains ongoing.
