LEXINGTON, N.C. — A Lexington man has been arrested on felony charges following a Davidson County Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations of past sexual abuse involving a juvenile.
The investigation began in 2024 when deputies responded to a disturbance at a home on Jesse Ray Lane in Lexington. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies learned the disturbance stemmed from a disclosure of alleged past sexual abuse involving a child.
The case was assigned to detectives with the sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Division. Because of the nature of the allegations, the juvenile participated in a forensic interview at The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center in Mocksville.
During the interview, the juvenile disclosed details of alleged sexual abuse involving Christopher Kyle Lester, 36, of Lexington, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives continued the investigation with assistance from the Davidson County Department of Child Protective Services and The Dragonfly House. Investigators said additional evidence was obtained during the investigation.
Authorities obtained an arrest warrant charging Lester with one count of felony statutory sex offense with a child 15 years old or younger and one count of felony indecent liberties with a child.
Members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad arrested Lester on Aug. 14.
Lester was held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Sept. 17.
