
SALISBURY, N.C. — A 51-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on South Main Street in Salisbury, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
Police responded around 7:30 a.m. Sept. 23 to the crash on South Main Street between Long Meadow Drive and Peeler Road.
Investigators said the crash involved an SUV, a passenger car and a pickup truck. Multiple occupants were injured.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Jonathan Michael Morgan, 51, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the roadway was closed while law enforcement investigated.
Initial information from the scene indicated a motorcycle was involved. Salisbury Police later identified the vehicles involved as an SUV, passenger car and pickup truck and did not list a motorcycle in its official release.
The Salisbury Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash. Police have not released additional information about the injuries or what led to the collision.
