MOORESVILLE, N.C. — The Town of Mooresville is preparing to begin the milling and paving phase of its fiscal year 2027 street resurfacing project, with work expected to start in the coming weeks, weather permitting.
Construction will begin in the Winslow Bay subdivision before moving to other areas scheduled for resurfacing.
The project involves removing the top layer of worn asphalt and replacing it with a fresh layer to improve road conditions and extend the life of town streets.
Mooresville has contracted Maymead Inc. to complete the work. Crews will use traffic signs and other safety measures to help manage traffic and reduce disruptions for residents and businesses.
Town officials said residents should expect temporary inconveniences while crews complete the resurfacing.
Residents are asked to remove vehicles parked along affected streets between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. during scheduled work.
Officials also advised keeping children and pets away from freshly resurfaced pavement to prevent materials from being tracked into homes.
Residents should avoid using lawn sprinklers, washing vehicles or allowing water to reach the roadway on resurfacing days because pavement must remain dry during the process.
The town has not announced a specific start date or completion timeline. Work will depend on weather conditions.
Residents and businesses with questions about the project may contact the Town of Mooresville at 704-663-7282.
