
DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (AP) — Three Thomasville residents are facing multiple felony charges after a Davidson County armed robbery investigation led authorities to a Lexington hotel room where detectives recovered firearms, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery in the Linwood community on June 3. Investigators said the victim was struck with a rifle, held at gunpoint and shot at while attempting to escape the robbery.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office Criminal Investigation Division identified 24-year-old Luis Alberto Sanchez-Delgado and 18-year-old Marco Antonio Sanchez-Delgado as two of the three suspects involved in the attack. Arrest warrants were obtained charging both men with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
On June 8, with assistance from the Lexington Police Department, authorities located the two men at a Days Inn hotel in Lexington and took them into custody without incident.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the hotel room and reported finding two firearms along with approximately 190 grams of cocaine, 20.5 grams of heroin, 13.5 grams of methamphetamine, 215.3 grams of marijuana, 9.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators said 22-year-old Maribell Sanchez-Guero was also inside the room and was allegedly in possession of controlled substances.
Maribell Sanchez-Guero, Luis Alberto Sanchez-Delgado and Marco Antonio Sanchez-Delgado were each charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
Luis Alberto Sanchez-Delgado and Marco Antonio Sanchez-Delgado also face the additional violent felony charges connected to the June 3 armed robbery.
A judicial official set bond at $1 million secured for Luis Alberto Sanchez-Delgado, $750,000 secured for Marco Antonio Sanchez-Delgado and $75,000 secured for Maribell Sanchez-Guero. All three were booked into the Davidson County Jail and are scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on June 19.
