
DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic and Criminal Enforcement (TRACE) Team arrested a Thomasville man on multiple charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine, according to authorities.
The traffic stop occurred June 19 on Shanda Lane near Blythe Drive in Thomasville for a reported traffic violation. During the investigation, detectives searched the vehicle and allegedly located methamphetamine.
The driver, Charles Michael Bowers, 55, of Thomasville, was arrested and charged with:
- Driving While License Revoked
- Window Tint Violation
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Bowers was released on a $3,500 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court in July.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office stated the arrest is part of ongoing enforcement efforts by the TRACE Team targeting illegal drug activity throughout the county.
Under North Carolina law, bond conditions are set by judicial officials and not by law enforcement agencies. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
