DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. , A Winston-Salem man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after deputies said he assaulted a woman, fired a gun and barricaded himself inside a home during a domestic violence incident.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies responded to a reported domestic assault at a residence in the 200 block of Adams Court on June 14. When deputies arrived, they spoke with the caller, who reported that 31-year-old Brandon Lee Caudle had assaulted his girlfriend, was violently damaging the home and had fired a weapon at her.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Special Emergency Response Team responded to the scene and took Caudle into custody without incident.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division later executed a search warrant at the residence and seized several firearms as part of the investigation.

Caudle was charged with attempted kidnapping, assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and assault on a female.

He was placed in the Davidson County Detention Center under a no-bond order. Court records show he was scheduled to make his first appearance in Davidson County District Court on June 15.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Under North Carolina law, all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
