ADVANCE, N.C. — A Davie County man was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the alleged distribution of child sexual abuse material, according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators arrested Brandon Wayne Trivette, of the 100 block of Hodsons MHP Road in Advance, on 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation began after the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cybertip on April 14, 2026. According to the sheriff’s office, the tip indicated child sexual abuse material was being transmitted from an IP address associated with a residence on Hodsons MHP Road.
On July 1, detectives with the Davie County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, along with agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant at Trivette’s residence. Authorities said investigators seized multiple digital devices and other electronic evidence for forensic examination.
Trivette was taken into custody and transported to the Davie County Detention Center. He is being held without bond.
Court records show his first court appearance is scheduled for July 30 in Davie County District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Davie County Sheriff’s Office at 336-751-6238 or email Sheriff@dcsonc.com.
