IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — An Iredell County man faces multiple drug charges after authorities said he fled from a deputy during a traffic stop Thursday.
Deputy J. Raper with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team stopped a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Randy Eugene Pack on Harmony Highway near Tomlin Road on Sept. 3.
According to the sheriff’s office, Pack was found to have a revoked driver’s license. During the investigation, Raper located marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of Pack and his clothing also reportedly uncovered alprazolam and methamphetamine.
Authorities said Pack fled on foot after the drugs were found. Raper pursued Pack and took him into custody a short distance away.
Pack was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor driving while license revoked.
Magistrate Thompson ordered Pack held without bond on the charges.
