A suspect has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 16-year-old Jayden Livingston, whose death earlier this month shocked the Walkertown community and prompted an extensive investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, 19-year-old John Claude Fowler Jr. is currently in custody and charged with four counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. Authorities said Fowler is being held without bond as the investigation continues.
Livingston was found shot to death inside a residence in the 4700 block of New Walkertown Road. Deputies previously confirmed the teen’s dog was also killed during the incident.
Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said additional charges are expected as investigators continue processing evidence and conducting interviews.
“We ask the public to be patient with us, as this is an ongoing investigation,” Kimbrough said in a statement. “You can be assured that The FCSO is working diligently to bring this together and you can be certain that more charges will follow.”
Kimbrough also thanked the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, District Attorney Jim O’Neill, the Winston-Salem Police Department and others assisting with the investigation.
The sheriff’s office said a full briefing and press conference regarding the case is expected in the coming days.
The homicide remains under active investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
