WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The summer swim season is coming to a close in Winston-Salem, with the city’s Recreation and Parks Department announcing a staggered schedule for closing municipal pools throughout August and early September.
The first facilities to close will be Reynolds Park Pool and Mineral Springs Pool, with both ending their seasons on Thursday, Aug. 6. Additional neighborhood pools, including Kimberley Park, Long Creek, Parkland and Polo Park, will close after Sunday, Aug. 9.
Winston Waterworks will also transition to a weekend-only schedule beginning Sunday, Aug. 9, before closing for the season on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Bolton Pool will remain open the longest, operating with adjusted hours from Aug. 10 through Sept. 7 before closing for the season on Labor Day.
The city’s 2026 pool closure schedule includes:
• Aug. 6: Reynolds Park Pool and Mineral Springs Pool close.
• Aug. 9: Kimberley Park, Long Creek, Parkland and Polo Park pools close.
• Aug. 9: Winston Waterworks begins weekend-only operations.
• Aug. 23: Winston Waterworks closes for the season.
• Sept. 7: Bolton Pool closes for the season after operating on an adjusted schedule from Aug. 10 through Sept. 7.
Although outdoor pool operations are winding down, several aquatic programs will continue.
Adult Fitness Swim will remain available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon. Water Fitness classes will continue Monday through Thursday through Sept. 3.
City officials encourage residents to take advantage of the remaining weeks of the swim season before pools close for the year.
