LEXINGTON, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is highlighting a specialized team focused on drug interdiction, criminal enforcement and traffic safety across the county. The Traffic and Criminal Enforcement Team, known as TRACE, was established by Sheriff Richie Simmons in 2018. The unit conducts proactive enforcement aimed at disrupting drug trafficking and other criminal activity while improving safety on Davidson County roadways. The TRACE Team conducts street-level drug enforcement and targets people suspected of transporting illegal drugs. FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about unofficial letters arriving in the mail requesting payment for services residents do not need to purchase. The sheriff’s office said residents reported receiving the letters and contacted the Forsyth County Records Office to verify their legitimacy. Officials confirmed the letters were not official correspondence from Forsyth County. Authorities identified several warning signs, including a return address outside Winston-Salem and instructions directing payments to Tampa, Florida. Marcus Nathan Simpson was last spoken to by family members on Aug. 26, according to police. His vehicle was last seen in the Winston-Salem area during the early morning hours of Aug. 27. IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — An Iredell County man faces multiple drug charges after authorities said he fled from a deputy during a traffic stop Thursday. Deputy J. Raper with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team stopped a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Randy Eugene Pack on Harmony Highway near Tomlin Road on Sept. 3. According to the sheriff’s office, Pack was found to have a revoked driver’s license. During the investigation, Raper located marijuana inside the vehicle. LEXINGTON, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a Lexington man wanted in connection with a breaking and entering investigation. The sheriff’s office identified the man as Renzy Allen Speaks. Investigators with the agency’s T.R.A.C.E. Team identified Speaks as a suspect in a breaking and entering reported in the Lamb Road area of Lexington.
