ASHEBORO, N.C. — A former Asheboro High School employee is facing multiple felony charges after Asheboro Police said an investigation uncovered alleged sexual relationships with students and unauthorized access to academic records.
According to warrants obtained Thursday, 39-year-old Amber Elizabeth Walker of Greensboro has been charged in Randolph County with multiple counts of felony sex act with a student, indecent liberties with a student and accessing government computers to defraud.
The warrants allege Walker, who is identified in court documents as a school counselor, administrator and teacher at Asheboro High School during various time periods, engaged in sexual acts with multiple students between 2022 and 2026.
Investigators allege Walker engaged in sexual acts with at least three students identified in the warrants by initials or last names. Court documents state some of the alleged acts occurred while the students and Walker were present at the same school and before the students ceased being enrolled.
The warrants also accuse Walker of taking indecent liberties with students while employed at Asheboro High School. Several of those charges allege the incidents occurred while Walker served as a school administrator or teacher.
In addition to the sex-related offenses, Walker is charged with felony accessing government computers to defraud. According to the warrants, investigators allege Walker unlawfully accessed a government computer system and altered or manipulated official academic records, including student grades and grade point averages.
Court records show the alleged offenses span from June 2022 through May 2026.
Walker was arrested by the Asheboro Police Department on May 20 and booked into the Randolph County Detention Center.
Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation.
