WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 17-year-old Forsyth County juvenile is facing multiple charges after authorities say she created and shared a “hit list” targeting several former classmates.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called on May 20 to investigate a report of communicating threats after learning about a list allegedly created by the juvenile. Investigators said the list contained the names of several former classmates.
The following day, deputies interviewed the juvenile, who allegedly admitted to creating the list. During the interview, authorities said she also assaulted deputies.
Sheriff’s officials sought a secure custody order through the Office of Juvenile Justice, but the request was denied because the case did not involve felony charges.
On May 26, juvenile petitions were filed charging the teen with seven counts of communicating threats, three counts of stalking and two counts of assault on a government official.
The sheriff’s office said all individuals named on the list, as well as their parents, have been notified.
Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said threats of violence will not be tolerated and encouraged parents and community members to report any concerning behavior involving children.
The investigation remains ongoing.
