LEXINGTON, N.C. — A 31-year-old Davidson County man has been charged with multiple child exploitation offenses following an investigation by the Invictus Task Force.
According to a press release, the investigation began in April after task force members received multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the investigation, authorities identified Jonathan Hernan Reina of Linwood as a suspect.
On June 4, members of the Invictus Task Force, with assistance from the Davidson County Special Response Team and the Davidson County T.R.A.C.E. Team, executed a search warrant as part of the investigation.
Following the search, Reina was taken into custody and charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Authorities said Reina was transported to the Davidson County Detention Center, where a magistrate set a $30,000 secured bond. He made his first court appearance Friday in Davidson County District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact representatives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Invictus Task Force.
The Invictus Task Force is a multi-agency partnership that includes law enforcement agencies from Randolph, Alamance, Davidson, Forsyth and Rockingham counties, along with the Liberty Police Department, the State Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations. The task force focuses on internet crimes against children, sexual exploitation, trafficking and related offenses involving minors.
