CONCORD, N.C. — The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office has announced the return of its annual National Night Out event, inviting residents from across the county to come together for an evening focused on community engagement, public safety and strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the public.
The 6th Annual National Night Out will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center.
This year’s event carries the theme, “Neighbors United, Crime Defeated,” highlighting the nationwide initiative’s mission of fostering partnerships between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
Sheriff’s Office officials said National Night Out is built around the idea that strong neighborhoods and positive police-community relationships play an important role in preventing crime and improving public safety.
The event aims to bring together residents, law enforcement officers, first responders and community organizations in a family-friendly environment that encourages interaction and collaboration.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the annual gathering promotes neighborhood camaraderie while providing opportunities for the community to connect with public safety personnel and learn more about the services and resources available throughout Cabarrus County.
Officials said continued collaboration between residents and public safety agencies helps create a safer and stronger community for everyone who lives, works and visits the county.
Additional activities and event highlights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
