DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A 58-year-old Randleman man was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop during a multi-agency highway safety operation in Davidson County, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. On June 16, detectives with the sheriff’s office Traffic and Criminal Enforcement Team participated in a High Visibility Engagement conducted through the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program. DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Davidson County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested seven people during April and May as part of ongoing efforts to enforce North Carolina’s sex offender registration laws, according to a sheriff’s office news release. Authorities said the arrests stemmed from alleged violations of registration requirements that convicted sex offenders must follow after their release from prison or commitment. A Winston-Salem woman faces up to 16 years in prison after being convicted in connection with the 2023 shooting of another woman following a long-running dispute, according to the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office. Lasonya Renee Jones, 55, was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Iredell County – A North Carolina man accused of attacking multiple people with a machete and damaging property was taken back into custody just hours after being released from jail, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Darren Campbell said deputies responded around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, to a reported breaking and entering and assault on Lewis Ferry Road. When deputies arrived, they found a victim suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. Investigators identified the suspect as Joseph Payton Gallimore. (AP) — Three Thomasville residents are facing multiple felony charges after a Davidson County armed robbery investigation led authorities to a Lexington hotel room where detectives recovered firearms, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — A Davie County teenager has been sentenced in federal court to 10 months in prison for making mass shooting threats against three universities in 2025, federal prosecutors announced. Michael Zechariah Tedder, 19, of Advance, was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court after previously pleading guilty to one count of communicating a threat in interstate commerce. In addition to his prison sentence, Tedder will serve three years of supervised release. SALISBURY, N.C. — The fire that destroyed a large portion of The Grand on Julian apartment complex and displaced dozens of residents has been determined to be accidental, according to the Rowan County Fire Marshal’s Office. Rowan County Fire Marshal officials announced Tuesday that a joint investigation conducted with the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal found the blaze originated in a breezeway area of the apartment complex.
