ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who fled from authorities during a routine compliance check and remains at large. According to the sheriff’s office, Reggie “Dexter” Jessup, 35, is wanted in connection with violations discovered during a compliance check conducted by the Electronic House Arrest Division on May 29. Authorities said Jessup fled on foot into a wooded area near Brush Creek Road in Bennett during the encounter. Despite search efforts, he was not located and remains wanted. CONCORD, N.C. — A 17-year-old Charlotte resident has been charged with murder and multiple other offenses after a shooting in Concord left a man dead and a teenage girl seriously injured, police said. According to the Concord Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Bedlington Drive NW at approximately 12:39 a.m. Monday following a report of an assault with injuries. When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. SALISBURY, N.C. — A stolen vehicle investigation led to an arrest Saturday after Rowan County deputies and China Grove police officers located a vehicle flagged by a Flock camera alert. According to law enforcement, deputies and officers were notified after a Flock camera detected a stolen vehicle in the area. Authorities began searching for the vehicle and later located it at the Valero gas station on South Main Street near Webb Road in Salisbury. Winston-Salem: Police are investigating an accidental shooting involving two children that occurred Friday morning in the 100 block of Dunbarton Court. According to investigators, the children were alone inside the home when they found a firearm. One child was accidentally shot and transported to Brenner Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was reported in stable condition. Police said the shooting appears to have been accidental, and the investigation remains ongoing.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 17-year-old Forsyth County juvenile is facing multiple charges after authorities say she created and shared a “hit list” targeting several former classmates. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called on May 20 to investigate a report of communicating threats after learning about a list allegedly created by the juvenile. Investigators said the list contained the names of several former classmates. The following day, deputies interviewed the juvenile, who allegedly admitted to creating the list. NASCAR has indefinitely suspended 35-year-old Evanna Howell following an incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway during race weekend. According to Cabarrus County court records, Howell was arrested May 23 after allegedly using a golf cart to strike a 77-year-old man, causing serious injuries. The victim reportedly suffered a severe laceration. Howell faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury. She was released from the Cabarrus County Detention Center on a $125,000 bond. Howell is listed as a senior account manager for 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.

CHINA GROVE, N.C. — A Mooresville man is facing multiple charges after an alleged disturbance during a field day event Tuesday morning at China Grove Elementary School. According to court documents, officers responded to the school around 9:40 a.m. after staff reported a parent refusing to leave campus after being asked to do so by the principal.
